Training for using the upgraded information system designed for Assessment and Recording of Special Educational Needs

A training for using the Information system for Assessment and Recording of Special Educational Needs kicked off at the National Center of Educational Technologies (NCET) on February 13.
The training was held within the framework of UNICEF-funded “Harmonization of Disability Measurement Tools and Methodology, and Developing Electronic Data Exchange and Cross-Sectoral Data Management” project.
The 2-phase training held on February 13 and February 24 was designed for the relevant specialists of the National Pedagogical-Psychological Center (NPPC) under the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
Within the scope the project, ESI Consulting Group supports the NPPC to train its eligible staff to use the information systems for Assessment and Recording of Special Educational Needs, which is upgraded by the NCET and can now apply the code-sets and qualifiers of World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).
During the training, the staff were introduced to the main functions of the upgraded system, particularly:
– how to enter data on children,
– development of the vignette,
– filling out of the protocol of the relevant age group and disability type,
– ICF based needs assessment,
– development of the child’s functional profile,
– development of an individual service provision plan for each child.
The NCET, ESI Consulting and NPPC representatives summed up the results of the training and agreed to pilot the system in the Regional Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers (RPPSC) in the town of Aparan and Kotayk region.
